Highland Park Dragon

An altogether smokier-than-normal addition to the Highland Park range, Dragon Legend shows off their peaty elements cleanly and clearly, alongside sweeter hints from the sherry-cask-matured portion of the expression.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Cut grass, roasted vanilla pod and a hint of mulled wine.

Palate A robust core of heather-y, earthy smoke arrive straight away, with peppercorn, mince pie and oily malt in tow.

Finish Notes of dried citrus and toasted barley linger, but the finish doesn't drag on too long (get it?).

Reviews for Highland Park Dragon Legend
Vanilla heavy
What could be a decent bottle is utterly ruined by the overpowering flavour of vanilla. For me, undrinkable, even when used in baking.

Not my favourite HP
A bit light on the peat for me, smooth enough but I prefer the 12 so won't be buying again

Contamative
An excellent whisky for those quiet moments when contemplating the gifts around us in the natural world.

One of my favourite Highland Park expressions
The smoke and sherry meld together to produce something delightful. A definite 'buy again'. But darn that black bottle; for sure, it looks great, but the disappointment is crushing when you realise its empty sooner than you thought!

Smokey and smooth
Definitely smokier than usual from Highland Park, but stays smooth, not firey like some peated whiskies.

Unremarkable
A decent dram but unremarkable. I tried it when it was on offer for £28, but I doubt I'd pay the full £40 for it, as there are much better whiskies available at that price.

Not my favourite but feels luxurious
I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review.

When it arrived, the box and bottle looked stylish and made me feel as if the drink was a luxurious item that I needed to savour.

I'm not a great whisky drinker, but I found this to be a really smooth smoky flavour. It smells amazing and the smokiness and vanilla really came through.

I was rather disappointed that the flavour didn't last as an aftertaste, which made me just want to drink more.

Its a solid Highland whisky. Its not the best Highland park whisky, I would go for the 12 over this. However, its worth the try, and its available.
Highland Park Dragon Legend (On the nose) - Vanilla, light aromatic smoke, spice, sherry, woody, smooth, grass, mulled wine, fresh, light fruitiness, pleasant aromatic note, alcohol note pairs well with the soft smoke, (Palate) spiciness, fruitiness, slight nutty note, malty note, young bite, vibrant, intense, citrus, woody oak note, light sweet note, slight sherry note
