Highland Park 24 Year Old 1992 (cask 1272) - The Pearls Of Scotland Golden Pearl Collection (Gordon & Company)
A smartly presented independent bottling of single malt Scotch whisky from the adored Highland Park distillery on the Isle of Orkney. This was aged in cask #1272 for 24 years, from May 1992 to June 2016, before said cask was opened up and drained of its delicious Island whisky by Gordon & Company for their deluxe indie bottling range, The Pearls Of Scotland Golden Pearl Collection. 195 bottles were produced, and each comes with a fairly sizeable glass stopper.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Crumbly fudge, beeswax, light wafts of smoked ham and bonfire embers.
Palate
More vanilla-forward sweetness, joined by waves of coastal air and black pepper. A slight hint of fruitiness - apricot, perhaps?
Finish
Barley and vegetal peat.
