Bourbon
An indie Highland Park here, bottled up by Malts of Scotland! This expression was distilled up on Orkney back in 1996, and was matured in a bourbon hogshead until 2019, when it was bottled at cask strength. A very small release of only 219 bottles of excellent Island single malt.
Almond croissants, sawdust, a subtle hint of floral malt, and then a good waft of peat smoke.
Vanilla, flamed orange peel, heather, baking spices and walnuts.
Subtle earthy hints balanced by salted chocolate and crystallised ginger.
