Highland Park 18 Year Old - Earl Haakon
The final release in the cult-favourite collection from Highland Park: "the Magnus series". Earl Haakon was a character in the Orkney Inga Saga, who murdered his cousin, Magnus (the inspiration for the previous two bottlings in the range). This is aged for 18 years, and it's absolutely stunning.
This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Ginger spice, thick, creamy caramel, candy floss, malt and barley sugar. Intense and rich, lots of underripe plum notes too.
Palate
Custard and charred oak, with notes of tobacco leaves, plum wine and black pepper.
Finish
Long, very long in fact. Ridiculously spicy, with sweet, creamy
Overall
Utterly incredible.
