The entry level bottling from Scotland's most northerly distillery, Highland Park, aged for 12 years. This is an older design, before the Highland Park range underwent a rebrand in 2017, and another in 2024. A fab find for a retro collection.
These bottles were part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Always quick to disappear in my cabinet. Everyone likes it. Great quality for the price.
This was my first bash at Highland Park, lovely smell, I thought even better with a touch of water. The taste I preferred neat though. I thought quite a balanced flavour with nothing over powering. Pretty smooth with a great feeling in the throat
THE most reviewed 12 year old... Bought the 43% version on sale for $58 CAD. It is a very well balance scotch and I think everyone should try it at least once... just to learn what a benchmark Island/Highland hybrid is supposed to be like... Just like the Balvenie 12 yr old Double Wood to the Speyside and Glenmorangie 10 year old to the beginners. Nose: smoke, honey, floral (heather?), mango Palate: honey, mango, pineapple, green tea Finish: spice, pepper, black tea, smoke Let sit for 3 hours in another occasion. The smoke subsided and floral takes over. But as a whole became less interesting. My mistake is that I didn't try it until 6 years and 40+ bottles later. Now this very well balanced scotch came across as bland to me, not because it is bad, but mostly because my taste buds have already out-grown it.
For the price you will really struggle to get better than this. There are better whiskies out there but for an everyday dram you can't go wrong with highland park 12 yo.
really nice with pepsi and some ice
