Description

Hannah Whisky Merchants headed to Orkney for this Highland Park, distilled in 2013 and matured for 12 years in a single first-fill bourbon barrel. Cask 2217 yielded just 231 bottles at 59.3% ABV. It joins the bottler’s Samhain Series, with a label depicting the Trows of Orkney.

Nose

Apricot and white peach, with floral notes, barley and creamy oak. A coastal freshness runs underneath, with gentle peat emerging.

Palate

Lemon and lime lead into malt, marzipan and fragrant floral notes. Subtle peat and a salty edge balance the oak.

Finish

Dry oak and citrus, with barley, vanilla and a light grip of tannin.
