Hibiki 17 Year Old

A world renowned Japanese blend, Hibiki 17 Year Old is made with aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's distilleries. Initially released in 1989, the blend is matured in Japanese mizunara oak casks at Yamazaki. Hibiki means harmony, which has certainly been achieved in this wonderful and iconic blend.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Quite full. There are notes of honey and wax, resin and oak. There are notes of gentle smoke and cacao, hints of cooked fruit and a nutty note.

Palate Sweet and rich. There are crisp notes of mixed peels, raisin and custard with a little zest and plenty of oak.

Finish Long with notes of oak and cocoa and sherried peels.

Buy it if you can
Smells of sweet smoky nutty vanilla and grass...cherry syrup, chocolate, hint of melon and lemon. Taste has all that lemon and huge wafts of chocolate, oak bitterness, thick smoky presence

Get a bottle and don’t share unless you have to
Nose has vanilla oak saffron and a touch of honey
Palate has oak dried fruit subtle spice with a richness that is not the least overpowering
Finish is decently long with smokey oak and that subtle spice always in the back

You can find better but not even close to this price point

If you have the opportunity, you won't be dissapointed
Absolutely fantastic. I've had the Hibiki 21 and this is just as good and half the price. I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference if they were sitting next to each other. Not enough o's in smooth.

I delightful blend and exceptional dram to sip. So smooth and packed full of rich sweet vanilla fruity floral notes.
A dram to be enjoyed with close family and quality food.... I'm in heaven!!
Prices will only unfortunately increase more and more unless something else as exceptional as this can supply the market.
