Henstone Single Malt Whisky - Ex-Peated Casks
English whisky from Henstone here that was matured initially in 200-litre Jim Beam bourbon casks and then finished in 125-litre peated quarter casks for a few months, adding a rich and spicy burst of smoke.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Gingery spice, rich smoke, and toffee pennies, as well as cooked apple.
Palate
Peach and orange peel, with a dusting of brown sugar and oak char.
Finish
Smoke and sweet fruit.
