A blended whisky named for Mr Hankey and Mr Bannister who created the brand. That's right, he was called Mr Hankey…
The nose is quite light, yet rather punchy. There are notes of winter spice and black pepper with a touch of caramel. The palate is quite fresh and crisp with medium-body. There are notes of buttery biscuit and toffee fudge with cereal sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel. The finish is of good length with a fudge sweetness.

By far the best whiskey I've had in this price class. Astonishingly good! Just to bad it's not available in Sweden...Tomas

Reluctantly tasted it first during a Burn's Night, and I wasn't impressed until the Haggis blessed our plates. Truth is, the Great chieftain o the puddin' race allowed the humble spirit to rise above it's condition and speak better for itself! A rather decent dram to be considered equally by posh educated palates or any wanky Lannister.

Love this whiskey it's smooth tastes lovely

Amazingly I first came across this gem of a whisky in a corner shop in Northern Cyprus,in fact it is easier to come by there than here in theU.K. It is also cheaper there than here!

Brought a bottle home from Cyprus. I was curious of the name as I had never heard of it before. Pleasant taste and a bargain at £8 but boy doesn't half give me a hangover.

For what it is, a cheap blend, I find Hankey Bannister quite acceptable.

I got a headache immediately after pouring myself a glass due to the strong scent of cheap tequila. The taste, on the other hand, is quite enjoyable. None-the-less I will definitely not buy another bottle.

Can't believe some of the 'reviews' here. 'Glen' - Scotch doesn't immprove in the bottle! Only in the cask! HB can hardly be found in Scotland. We have better taste! Get yoursleves some single malts, or a decent blend like Black Bottle or BNJ!

This is blended and bottled in my home town alongside Pinwhinnie and other fine whiskies. try it you might just be surprised.
My father-in-law just past. In his dresser drawer, we found a bottle of Hankey Bannister, Scotch Whisky a Blend, which he purchased on August 15, 1945, just before he came back to US. Can't wait to try it. 70 year old scotch has to be good.

my friend drank a bottle of this on our ski trip. he enjoyed the taste and it put him into a state of bobble headedness. he contained to moan the ought his blacked out sleep and woke up with the most terrible hangover.
I went to Binny's to buy a bottle of Laphroaig as a gift, and to select something less fine for myself. I had never seen Hankey Bannister nor heard of it, but the funny name intrigued me, so I bought it. It's quite good. My cheap Scotch of choice had usually been Clan MacGregor, but I may stick with Hankey for awhile. Greg, Chicago, Nov, 24, 2013

I was very surprised when I tried this tipple, recommend to anyone

Before I tried this one I only drank whiskey rarely and only single malts, but Hankey Bannister made me ralize that I can really enjoy cheaper blends as well. Nice balance between sweetness and harshness, not too alcoholic on the nose, pleasant aftertaste, imo, better then many famous and widespread brands.
