A very rare, highly sought-after and truly fabulous peated Japanese whisky from Hakushu. This 25 year old single malt has picked up countless awards and rave reviews over the years, including the World's Best Single Malt title on multiple occasions at the World Whiskies Awards. Still elegant, of course, this rare release nonetheless sees both the sherried and peated components of Hakushu dialed up.
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 01 08 2025, while stock lasts.
A smouldering, smoky nose with toffee apples, rancio, Armagnac, ginger and nutmeg.
A rich, sherried palate with wood smoke, linseed, rhubarb and custard sweets, raspberries and walnut. A hint of spearmint develops.
A long, herbal, nutty finish with bittersweet oak on the tail.

Well, I have a bottle from 2016. It was already 25yo. I want to try it... Box: average, Bottle: nice, Content: my dream... as I had a drop with my friends few years ago... I already know that it is a nice nectar... but I'm going to keep it for couple of years longer. Things that can convince me are... a top party or a top price ;)
Awesome taste
Top shelf
light amber in color, nose of subtle peat and subtle white oak, flavors explodes in your mouth yet restraint in an understated elegance, soft white oak, silky and round, with spicy but long finish. Tremendous power and finesse with long elegant finish. I wonder if this is the Japanese oak they've been talking about? The taste remind me of eating best Toro Sushi, i.e. subtle silky flavors to meditate and be inspired! This style is so different than the overtly sweet sherry oak stuff. This is sublime. 96 points. This got #1 spot out of Macallan 25 #2 and Yamazaki 25 #3. Trio of 25-year-old's compared side by side at the Yamazaki Distillery, for about US$ 29 per shot, (maybe less than a "shot?)
One of the best whisky that i ever tasted. Beautiful stuff!
