This Irish whiskey from The Liberator combines a blend of malt whiskey (42%) matured in tawny Port casks and grain whiskey (58%) matured in ruby Port casks. Only the freshest casks are used, and they're filled with whisky within three weeks of the Port being emptied for an intense profile, packed with vinous fruit character. The whisky is brought down to an ABV of 46% over a slow period of six weeks, giving plenty of time for it to integrate and ensuring an elegant, soft texture. Bottled without added colour or chill filtration.
