GlenWyvis Single Malt 2019 Batch 01/19 70cl Whisky

The third single malt release from the community-owned GlenWyvis distillery, located in the valley of Ben Wyvis mountain up in the Scottish Highlands. The sustainable distillery runs off its own green power source, but a fire in the fuel store of its biomass boiler toward the end of 2019 had drastic implications for that year's output. The gang at GlenWyvis rose to the challenges this presented though, bringing together winter and summer runs of concerto and laureate barley, and filling them to mature in a combo of red wine, Moscatel, and marsala casks. The youthful malt has taken on splendid notes of sweet fruit and spice, and it signals exciting things to come from the young Highland distillery.
