Before it was known as Glenturret, before they even had a license (naughty!), distilling was taking place at what may be the oldest distillery in the world. That's what we're seeing on this Boutique-y whisky label, some illicit distilling taking place on Hosh farm back in 1775! There are also a couple of grouse on the back of the door, a nod to the famous Famous Grouse blend whose 'spiritual home' is Glenturret.
This is a release of 410 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Creamy oats, nut shells, mixed berries and star anise with touches of dried apple, tobacco and Chewits.
Fizzy apple and pear, light yet mature oak notes develop, becoming slightly syrupy with cigar box and kiwi on the tail.
Mars bars or even Mars choc ices with hints of raspberry and tobacco leaf.
First thought when nosing and tasting this was 'Brazil-nut shells' - it's really quite tannic, but that's balanced by the fruity character of the spirit that's really quite lovely.
