Description
An interesting release from Càrn Mòr's Strictly Limited range - peated Glenturret! This was distilled in 2009 (the year the distillery started to experiment with peated whisky) and matured in a sherry hogshead for 8 years until 2018, when it was bottled at 46% ABV. Only 472 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted oak and honeyed ham, with a bit of chocolate thrown in for good measure.
Palate
Bacon, grist, buttery rye bread with cardamom seeds.
Finish
Slight sweetness of raisin, but the peat notes eventually take over.
