The Glenturret Triple Wood (2022 Release)
Part of The Glenturret Distillery's annual release, it's the 2022 edition of its marvellous Triple Wood single malt! As the name might have given away, there were three types of wood involved in the maturation of this expression, marrying whiskies matured in sherry seasoned American and European oak casks, as well as ex-bourbon barrels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Juicy dried fruits with vanilla custard and sprinklings of spice, alongside hearty oak char.
Palate
Candied ginger, dark chocolate with leathery oak, and malted milk biscuits. A touch of treacle and peppery spice begin to build.
Finish
Barley sugar sweeties, a sprinkle of nutmeg, dried orange peel, and clove.
