Glentauchers 15 Year Old 1997 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
Only 190 bottles of this fresh and fruity little number emerged from cask 3804 in July 2013. As with all of the whiskies in our single cask series, this wasn’t subject to any chill-filtration and was bottled at a natural cask strength of just over 55% abv. If you’re a huge peat freak or a card carrying member of the tobacco and leather brigade then this probably isn’t for you, but if you like a fresher, zestier dram then this little fellow could be right up your street.
"one of the deliveries of the year... a great distillery magnificently and truly faultlessly portrayed. Not a weakness nor off note: hard to see this distillery in a better light."
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Freshly-Squeezed Orange juice, and zest. A touch of lime.
Palate
Rich and fruit-packed. A veritable fruit-salad dessert of citrus, stone-fruit (particularly apricot) and melon.
Finish
Still lively, but settles from fruit into Barley-rich sweetness. We've now left the table and are onto after-dinner shortbread.
Overall
Remarkably sprightly and fresh whisky. Clearly from a great, well-constructed cask.
