The Whisky Maker's Cut expression from Glenrothes' Soleo Collection is completely matured in first-fill sherry seasoned casks, resulting in punchy notes of orange, cinnamon and dried fruit. The whole range is named after the process of sun-drying grapes in preparation for sherry production, hence the particularly heavy focus on sherry throughout the series.

I’ve read some of the reviews and chalk the negative ones up to fans of the vintages line who feel spurned by the new direction. All I will say is give the new line a chance. This is a gem. Cask strength and a wonderful mix of vanilla and spice. Well worth the ask
This was an exceptional bottle. Very smooth and warm and well-balanced.
I’m a fan of the Glenrothes BUT they’ve done away with the vintages in favor of age statements, so I’m not sure how this expression fits that new directive as it has no age statement. It’s an ok bottle but at this price I expected more. It costs more than the 12 and 10 year olds and I found it one dimensional
Possibly the worst whiskey I have ever tasted, no depth of flavour.
