Glenrothes 25 Year Old 1991 (cask 5118) (Adelphi)
This cracking single cask bottling of Glenrothes single malt was distilled back in 1991, and matured for a generous quarter of a century! The cask was selected by independent bottler Adelphi, who opened it up in 2016, to release an outturn of 114 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet lemon drizzle cake, plenty of oaken vanilla, and honeyed fruit.
Palate
The zestiness continues on the palate with buttery malt leading to crumbly fudge. Baking spices build slowly with a prickle of peppery oak.
Finish
Aromatic cinnamon and nutmeg arrive, with plenty of candied fruit followed by more waxed peels and earthen spice.
