Glenrothes 21 Year Old 1998 (cask 13522) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Well-aged, single cask Glenrothes from Douglas Laing! Distilled in 1998, it was left to mature in a refill barrel for over two decades. Eventually it was bottled at 21 years old in October 2019 at cask strength, with an outturn of 214 bottles at a burly 60.7% ABV for the Xtra Old Particular range.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose

The nose has a gentle spiciness that develops to fresh vanilla, caramelised nuts and grist.

Palate

The palate brings more vanilla, running alongside hard candy, orange zest and creamy fudge.

Finish

The long finish reveals citrus fruits, warming cinnamon and spiced oak.
