This 2012 vintage single malt from Glenrothes joins independent bottler Murray McDavid's Benchmark collection. The whisky matured for 12 years, including a two-year finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry barriques sourced from Ximénez-Spinola in Jerez.
Flat, dull, no depth of flavour, no character. Hard to believe this has been anywhere near even an unopened bottle of sherry, let alone aging in it for 2 years. A disappointing dram that as it stands is so ridiculously overpriced.
