The sixth release from Glenmorangie's exceedingly popular Private Edition series, Tùsail is made with Maris Otter barley. Maris Otter was originally bred in 1965 to meet the need for a high quality brewing malt, though it eventually fell out of style, with higher-yielding varieties taking its place.

Very Solid

I'm a huge Glenmorangie fan. To me, this tastes like the Original amplified on every level - punchier on the nose with more fruits thrown in the palate. Personally, I get pear, which is unique. However, this whisky doesn't add much new to the table, especially considering its place in the rare finish-happy private edition line. That's where it loses a point for me. I don't know if getting a fairly basic, yet perfectly delicious, whisky in the Tusail is worth the $70 more compared to the Original for casual whisky fans. Great to have for any Glenmorangie fan, though!

Original indeed

Tried this in my local pub, was very pleasantly surprised! Definitely has the Glenmorangie DNA but with lovely soft malty sugar and biscuit/pastry notes on the nose and palate, with an unusual texture presumably from the MO barley. Finally managed to source a bottle which I will be sure to treasure as long as I can make it last but I was very late in the game. If you can find one, it is worth the money.

Classic Malt, Glenmorangie Style

If your looking for a peat/sherry monster then maybe you should move on. With that said this scotch has a wonderfull creamy malty taste. Lemon biscuits, malty caramel, subdued floral notes. Its subtle but delicious. Worth a bottle, even two if you can find some.

My first Glenmorangie.. don't say it will be my last but I'm not that well impressed.

Gotta say it's a bit pricy.. but I guess that's cause it's limited. I've tasted better whiskies even through this was my first experience of Glenmorangie.
