Glenmorangie Quinta 14yo

Glenmorangie's Quinta Ruban 12 Year Old is a fantastic Port cask finished expression, and now the distillery has developed upon the recipe with The Quinta Ruban 14 Year Old! The whisky is initially matured in bourbon casks before being moved over to ruby Port casks, imparting waves of scrumptious fruit and chocolate notes to the spirit. Superb as a postprandial dram.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Summer fruit tart with a sprinkling of icing sugar, aromatic cedar, milky coffee and almond pastries.

Palate Chocolate mousse, Bourbon biscuits, orange oil, more almond notes (now toasted), blackcurrant and raisin.

Finish Lasting richness of stewed berries and dark chocolate.

Reviews for Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban 14 Year Old
It as good as it should be
For a 14 year old it should be smoother, but I think many will like the flavour. However if you like a really smooth dram this one isn’t for you.

Middle of the road.
Light port on the nose. Nothing interesting going on on the palate though. It's bland. Definitely not bad; if I'd paid about 35 pounds, I'd probably be singing its praises, but not at this price point.

My goto 14 years
Hesitatet to buy this bacause so many rewiews saying it's bad. Luckily I decided to go with it and oh my God... This is incredible whisky!! The nose is chocolate and almond and even when 46% it's smooth, milk chocolate covering your mouth. Long finish continues to evolve something sweet and berry kinda taste. Don't believe bad reviews this is great whisky from glenmorangie. 5 stars

Smooth and rich. Needs water to be at its best.
I like this. I didn't try the 12-year, but compared to standard Glenmorangie 10 this one is smoother. I do find I need to add quite a bit more water to it than I do to the ten, and it took me a couple of drams to dial this in... but now that I have, I really like this whisky.

Fantastic dram, recommend for bourbon drinkers as a single malt to try
Great dram, great price / quality ratio. I really enjoyed this and recommend for bourbon drinkers who want to get into scotch. Nice balance of dark stewed fruits, malt, cask influence, spices, and chocolate. Great color too.

A great dram on its own
All that "old times were better" crap is nowhere close to reality in this case. The 12YO was great, but it's gone, deal with it. This 14YO is also more than good, just a different animal... Very drinkable, sweet but not overwhelmingly cloying.

Loved it.
I love it. I found it full of flavour, very drinkable, and sweet in a really nice way. If the 12 yr old really was so much better, I'm gutted I missed it. This is superb.

Rancid
Rank rotten, not a patch on the original 12 years old which was a Highland gem, some sort of medicinal cough bottle after taste and just horrid, bring back the original 12 year old and pronto please
