The whisky is initially matured in bourbon casks before being moved over to ruby Port casks, imparting waves of scrumptious fruit and chocolate notes to the spirit. Superb as a postprandial dram.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Summer fruit tart with a sprinkling of icing sugar, aromatic cedar, milky coffee and almond pastries.

Palate

Chocolate mousse, Bourbon biscuits, orange oil, more almond notes (now toasted), blackcurrant and raisin.

Finish

Lasting richness of stewed berries and dark chocolate.

Interesting but not great

Always been a fan of glenmorangie. I loved the old wood finish series and the port wood was my favourite. I had high hopes for this but it is a bit rough around the edges for a 14 year old. The nose is a bit on the chemical side and the palate is muddled. I can’t pin it down after nearly half a bottle. I like the finish though. Goes on a while and is very pleasant. Not bad but not really very good either. Shame.

One of the best 14s I've tasted

A brilliant bottle with strong tastes from the port cask and a slight hint of smoke. Very fruity.

First rate whisky

I really like this whisky, its a proper step up from 12 year old that I think is pretty lightweight. For the money I'm very happy with the 14 year old. Im rubbish at flavour palates just know what I like and I like this

Excellent Quality

Read a few reviews before purchasing this one, most were complimentary and I am not disappointed Excellent overtones and back notes that do linger on the palette but still is very smooth to drink.

It as good as it should be

For a 14 year old it should be smoother, but I think many will like the flavour. However if you like a really smooth dram this one isn’t for you.
