Glenmorangie Lasanta 12yo Bottling Note

This is the 12 year old, Sherry cask finished expression from Glenmorangie, dubbed The Lasanta. It first matures in bourbon casks before being moved over to Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks for a finishing period. Plenty rich and creamy with dark chocolate, dried fruit and fresh honey.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Plum and baking spice supported by milk chocolate raisin, caramel and toasty oak.

Palate: A dash of tart raspberry coulis leads into a generous helping of sherried dried fruit, with orange marmalade, toasted nuts and berry jam. Sweeter notes of brown sugar and cereal notes appear.

Finish: Silky and long, with oily orange peel, cinnamon and hazelnut praline, rounded off by bitter dark chocolate.

Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 Year Old Reviews

Good dram but I cant help but feel the it could have been finished in the Sherry casks for a couple more years. The flavors would have been enhanced. Still a smooth and warming sipper.

A lovely sherried dram

The nose is rich and inviting, smooth and in no way challenging or spiky. The sherry influence is clear, deep vanilla and butterscotch notes mix with a deep plummy fruityness.
On the taste, it's quite jammy with red fuit notes alongside some orange citrus. Behind the initial dark sugar and fruit sweetness comes a darker more tanin note of cocoa, hazlenuts and some warming spice from the casks - perhaps a hint of clove and allspice.
The finish lasts a long time, warming and deep - the nutty notes come more to the fore alongside that bitter dark chocolate note.
Delicious stuff at a good price

We did a taste test straight and aromatic test. Our senses perked up thanked

First time we embraced this awesome Sherry cask. Well done!

We did a taste test straight and aromatic test. And our senses came alive and thanked us.

Needless to say, the remainder of the evening was intriguing indeed.

Doesn't get much better at this price. A must buy for all Sherry cask lovers.

Nice and gentle

Probably “smoothest”scotch you can find. Nice sherry finish. Can be to soft comparing with other scotches.

Soft and gentle

Soft and gentle character, very typical for Glenmorangie. Not complex but very decent anyway, very pleasant sherry influence.
Probably smoothest scotch I’ve ever had, so definitely worth buying if you know it is your style, or you’re planning to drink with people who afraid of scotch :)

It has a very rich flavor. In comparison to a Islay, obviously not Smokey at all. Smooth with a bit of bite at the finish.

I love you man!!!!!

I found it enjoyably smooth and a little sweet.

Fair, not great. Can do better for this price

Spend a couple more bucks and get the Quinta Ruban 14 yr old.

Good whisky

Better than expected. I'm not a big fan of the classic glenmorangie 10 but this changed my thoughts about the distillery. It's not the most complex but it combines a bite with drinkability.
