its good whisky
25 pound from morrisons, what a treat.
I enjoy my Islays and peat is amazing, but when you want something other than a peated scotch whisky this is to me a very nice one. The nose is very pleasant and inviting with sweet hints of honey, vanilla and dried fruit. Very approachable and tasty. Palate consisted of chocolates, raisins, honey, hints of creamy vanilla and a dry slightly oaky finish. At the price of $45 USD at many local liquor stores it's a great buy.

Let me star by stating that in the past I drank some fantastic whiskeys from Glenmorange but this one is not one of those. The nose is not bad but doesn't represent well what's coming next. I feel this is a recipe for those who drink Red Bull with Vodka who are looking for a way to seem sophisticated. The distillery describes their whisky as having notes of mixed sweet spices and melted vanilla ice cream. If that's code for candy-tasting liquor then they might be right. Otherwise is obviously an exaggeration. And speaking of exaggerations, that's what's wrong with this whisky. All the flavors in the background are greatly enhanced giving it an unexpected flavor that's not what you may think (or want) from a true Scottish Whisky. I have to give this recipe a decisive thumbs down. What it needs is to be is part of a blend and not just a single-malt Whisky.
