Glenmorangie Lasanta 46% Bottling Note

An Oloroso sherry finished whisky from Glenmorangie, the word 'Lasanta' derives from the Gaelic for Warmth and Passion.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is creamy and of caramel, crème anglaise and chocolate raisins, quite dry with notes of mixed sweet spices. The mouth feel is very thick as you chew through honeyed raisins. There is a little sweet beeswax, melted vanilla ice cream as the sherry weaves gently through the palate, a very buttery expression. Much more of that honey in the creamy finish, it has a slight oaky dryness and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 Year Old (46%) Reviews

xXx

I would probably have had the 46% version as a standard bottle at my whisky shelf, it was really good! Mouth covering with fantastic strong oloroso sherry note, perfect balance and to that price is hard to beat. Real pity they've watered it down to 43% and changed the approach with also PX, I was so disappointed! It is far from the same whisky and I will not buy the 43% version again. Glenmorangie should really change the label because it's way to similar and fools the buyer! My rating is for the 46%, R.I.P.

Complex but complimentary notes. And for the price, it is exceptional.

Love it

46% very good 43% not so good

The ratings wind me up on this page....This is the 46% and non-chill filtered version we're reviewing here, and it's a cracker. It's also discontinued.

the 43% chill filtered version from 2014 onwards is a different kettle of fish, to me a significant drop in quality. There's a separate page on MoM for reviewing the 43% version so keep the hate in there and spread the love in here of those glorious pre 2014 days.

I love Glenmorangie Original; this is drinkable but disappointing

I just bought a bottle thinking it was 46% as it was when an online reviewer that I like tasted it in 2014. It is now only 43% as some commenters below have noted. The bottle you picture here is the 46% bottling (label trimmed in gold, gold-background for "Extra Matured", etc) which I assume is why you list it as sold out. It would be nice if you would note that for future buyers.

Excellent muscle avec, to the dessert

If you prefer strong, mature avec to the dessert, this Lasanta is a winner, especielly in a cabin during wintertime with snowstorm outside.

Quinta Ruban's little brother

Aaah Glenmorangie, you have won my heart. (Drinking Neat) Decadent, sweet burnt sugars, butterscotch, spice, chocolate covered raisin, musky oak, faint peat, bandaid. It's an amazing whiskey by itself and one of my favorites. But it's lacking when compared to Quinta Rubin.

It's light!

Whiskey of an odd kind but I like it. I've been drinking this, the original and Tusail, Tusail is by far the best one. This and the original are quite the same, this just have better finnish but it's the same tastes. Lemon, sherry and some malt.
