Glenmorangie 12yo Malaga Bottling Note

Glenmorangie went and got its hands on some casks that were previously home to one of the rarest fortified wines in the world, Malaga Dulce! This whisky was initially aged in ex-bourbon casks, and then moved over to the Malaga wine casks for a finishing period before eventually being bottled up at 12 years of age. Rich and full-flavoured single malt from Glenmorangie, an excellent expression for enjoying on a chilly evening.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Milk chocolate, blood orange, sandalwood and a pinch of perfumed malt.

Palate: Malt notes are more vanilla-forward on the palate, supported by helpings of dense honey, jammy sultanas, dates and caramelised nuts.

Finish: Cinnamon, ginger, oatmeal raisin cookies and another dollop of honey.

I got this at Scotch Whisky auctions and just got a 2nd bottle, great value!

Just cracked this open and had a dram. I agree with the tasting notes above. Smooth, great on the palate, the vanilla and dates come through leading to the oatmeal raisin cookies, can really taste the raisins!

Great value sweet whisky

Flippin' 'eck. Rarely has the first taste of a whisky had so much impact. Incredible value for money. I'll be seeking out as many bottles as possible for my keller. This is right on my sweet-spot, honey/butterscotch/vanilla, perfumed like a summer meadow, hint of sweet citrus, oaky chocolate, no smoke, no fire. Bliss.

Cannot be beaten!

This a drink that you can enjoy at any time. The initial taste is smooth with zero burn and has the after taste of honey and chocolate that lingers in your throat.
