Glenmorangie 10 Year Old Bottling Note

The Original is the flagship single malt Scotch whisky from the Glemorangie Distillery in the Highlands. Matured in a combination of first-and-second-fill American white oak casks for 10 years, the expression is a benchmark for creamy, approachable single malt. A long-running go-to dram for many whisky enthusiasts (including a few here at MoM Towers), this stuff is superb as an aepritif, though more than suitable for enjoying on a cooler evening.

Glenmorangie 10 Year Old - The Original Reviews

Surprising let down?

Not sure if this is a bad batch. I get mostly vodka an orange peel. Prefer Monkey Shoulder and would grab The Arran 10 eveytime over this for only a few more $.
Maybe 2.5 stars is unfair butI have parked the bottle and wont be getting it out soon.

Just starting my journey into Whisky. Not sure how to pick out all the different flavours that some people get but I will say that it tastes very nice so I will be replacing it very soon.

The quintessential beginners’ malt

My first single malt years ago that got me into the malt game. A classic.

A nice smooth whisky

A very nice smooth introduction to whisky. On the nose is fruity, not one in particular stands out more than others, dig deep and zest will come through. A nice vanilla orangey almost custard comes through followed by a mild spice that lingers just the right amount of time and doesn't travel down. A great dessert drink. Would go nicely with custard or ice cream.

I love brushing my teeth with this fine nectar.

Classic stuff

Sweet, fruity, vanilla, creamy, toffee. It is really nice, warming and smooth. Refreshing and citrusy, just very well balanced and really drinkable. A classic and a really good one for beginners.

Can't praise it enough.

A great single malt, I received a bottle for my 61st birthday. Enjoyed every dram, 5 star rating. Gerald Brown.

Creamy orange sensations

This is a creamy, sweet whisky and to me it evokes oranges, orange blossom and orange creamsicle. Not overwhelmingly citrus, or of orange zest, but that is the suggestion. It is delicious. I don't get much barrel toast, briskness or heat. Not stiff. Very supple.

Fantastic value for money if you are on a budget.

After many years of enjoying whisky, both blended and malts, it's this one I return to time after time. I am on a limited budget and while occasionally I will treat myself to a more expensive bottle of something different, this is my all time favourite.

Good nose and palate is spoiled by an over spicy finish
