Glenmorangie
Scotland
Single Malt
Very, very unusual for Glenmorangie (though not for current whisky trends), they've gone and peated it. This was distilled from Lightly peated barley, to an original recipe dating back to 1903. This was aged in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a whisky with sweet vanilla and lime notes, hints of sherry and an interesting whiff of peat smoke.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Soft smoke and dried fruit. A little banana chip, hints of cereal sweetness, rose petals and applewood.
Creamy, gently peated palate with spice, candied orange, peach nectar and tropical fruit. Develops on sultanas and cocoa.
Long, chocolate-driven finish with Corinth raisins and cooked fruit.

Perfectly balanced with hint of peat. I recently finished my third bottle. Glad I stocked up because i haven't been able to find more (2 left!).
Tonight, I've had drams of Mac 18, Yamazaki 18 and now capping it off with some Glenmorangie Finealta. Fine fine stuff, holding its own against the 2 heavyweights. A touch of smoke and peat you don't usually get with other Glenmorangie expressions and that's what makes this one special. Definitely noticeably more complex than all the other Glenmos but just as tasty. If you have any experience with Glenmorangie, you'll have a great time drinking this one. I've only got the one bottle and need to find another.
Peatier than the Talisker. But similar otherwise, especially that peppery finish. Smooth. Delightful.
This is hands down my favorite Glenmorangie. It has the lovely light, well-balanced and sweet flavor of their usual cask finish lineup but with smoke. Not really peat, but smoke (there are no noticeable or overwhelming medicinal notes, even if it is technically "peated"). It completes the character and is what a Glenmorangie should be. Absolutely delicious. Wish I could get it more easily and more often.
what a fantastic malt. the smokey, sweet, oak. go,s down a treat. 1 of the best wisky,s i have ever tasted. signet is next on my list.
