Glenmorangie
Scotland
Single Malt

A superb and very rare limited edition Glenmorangie. This was distilled in 1993 and it was aged like a normal Glenmorangie, before being given an extra special finish in casks made from truffle oak. Quite possibly the most delicious-sounding whisky ever! A release of 886 bottles at natural cask strength.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Spicy and intense with notes of stem ginger, black pepper, manuka honey and smoked meat. Very interesting and unusual for Glenmorangie, but with plenty of that house creamy sweetness.
Very oaky, with notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, charcoal, rum and raisin ice-cream, cookie dough and honey.
Long and buttery with notes of pannacotta and cookie dough ice-cream.

What is "truffle oak"? I know truffles grow in the roots of oak trees, but roots are not used to make barrels.
