A single cask, cask strength Glenlossie, independently bottled by James Eadie! The single malt was distilled in March 2010, after which it was left in a re-charred hogshead to mature. Nine years passed, and when 2019 came around, 290 bottles were drawn from the cask and bottled at 55.4% ABV.
Baked goods galore, with orchard fruit crumble and vanilla sponge cake, with floral orange blossom.
Barley sugar and white chocolate cookie dough, with fresh malt and soft brown sugar.
A grassy note alongside cooked orchard fruit and oak spice.
I finished this bottle last evening (not all in one sitting you'll be relieved to hear) and I enjoyed every dram. Easily drinkable at full strength but a drop of water brought out more sweetness, fruit, spice and grassiness. Yes, the MoM notes were spot on.
I had a bottle of this last month, quite tame on the nose needs time in the glass, I got malt biscuits, Madeira cake, honey and pretty much the same in taste, a decent malt for those who want a single cask, cask strength malt.
