A single cask bottling of single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenlossie distillery, matured in a refill Sherry cask for 25 years - from June 1990 to October 2015. This has been presented as part of our very own Master of Malt Single Cask Series, and we're very proud of this one! Also, it comes presented with our very cool glass closure!
Battenberg, honey and Eccles cake. Raspberry, blueberry, lime and diced almond. Vegetal oakiness. Becomes very slightly smoky later on.
Quite dry and sweet Oloroso Sherry and Christmas pudding (with brandy butter) right away. Strawberries and extra thick double cream. Blood orange and marmalade develop.
Lingering raisin, vanilla, black pepper and red wine gums.
A gloriously generous Glenlossie.
Don't let the nose (very much a flint-dry sherry) on this fool you - the sweetness on the palate is extremely intense, and the finish is genuinely one of the most long-lasting experiences I've had from any whisky. An absolutely cracking, very, very well-aged dram. Excelsior!
