Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1968

A 1968 vintage and a very rare bottling from the Gordon and MacPhail Rare Old whisky range. The Glenlochy distillery closed several times and was finally demolished in 1986.
Really fresh fruity aromas of granny smith apples and fresh cut pineapple, developing rainforest canopy aromas with time. Finally the sherry cask influence announces itself with a fanfare of dried fruits.
Initially milk chocolate and redcurrants, followed by a wave of warm winter spices.
Still surprisingly fresh with citrus peel and sweet oxidised sherry.
This malt is surprisingly fresh for a whisky of its age. There are plenty of fruity flavours emboldened by warmer spice and chocolate notes.
