Glenlivet 28yo 1989

We do love a single malt from Glenlivet, and just take a look at this glorious example – so good we snapped up a whole cask of it! Distilled in 1989, the whisky was initially filled into an ex-bourbon barrel, before being switched over to an ex-oloroso sherry cask, which explains the majestic colour it's taken on. Finally, in 2018, the time was right for us to end that slumber, with 49 bottles of this 28-year-old magic now available as part of our Single Cask series.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Festive spices and dried fruit galore! Zesty orange peels and dense fruit loaf welcome the way for nutty caramel and leathery, sherried oak.

Palate Juicy sultanas arrive right away, with honeyed dates to balance zingy orange peel bitterness. Floral malt shows itself, with elegant, rich oak and Ginger Snap biscuits.

Finish Jammy plums and bittersweet cacao linger, while earthy coffee builds in the depths.
