Master of Malt
Scotland
Single Malt
A 27 year old Glenlivet single malt, which we've independently bottled as part of our Single Cask Series. This one was distilled in June 1989, matured in a bourbon cask and bottled just 10 days before its 28th birthday in June 2017. Our very first bottling of Glenlivet, and we couldn't be happier with it.
Quince cheese, black fruit and dark caramel combine initially. Jamaican ginger cake, antique leather and sweet leaf mulch rise underneath with brown sugar and Earl Grey.
Spiced oak, tobacco leaf and more dusty leather combine with black treacle, bramley apple and dried fruit. Bitter smoke wafts through the mid-palate.
Long, resinous and slightly salty.
I’m not saying this comes highly recommended, but I wish I had all the bottles from this cask to myself.
