A 2006 The Glenlivet Distillery matured in a first-fill sherry hogshead and bottled at 57.1% ABV. This is modern Glenlivet with proper sherried weight behind it, but still carrying that signature fruit-forward core. Just 336 bottles in total.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Figs, prunes, sultanas, strawberry jam and cigar box.
Palate
Waxy and full, with dark fruit, tobacco, milk chocolate, mocha and a pinch of sea salt.
Finish
Long, spiced and nutty, with preserved fruit, walnut oil and a touch of rancio.
