Glengoyne
Scotland
Single Malt
Released for the Travel Retail market, the Glengoyne Balbaína once again shows off the distillery's penchant for sherry-cask-matured deliciousness. With a hearty core of first-fill European-oak sherry cask aged whisky, this expression boasts plenty of dried fruit and warming spice.
Chocolate orange, malty biscuits, a hint of red wine sweetness.
Earthy clove and cinnamon, chewy dates, a touch of cantaloupe.
Brown sugar, soft oak, a touch of citrus peel.
£5.46 - £46.95
Very good whisky for what they offer in the travel retail market. A real sherry dram with european oak characteristics, that reminds me a kind of Tamdhu or Glenturret style. I liked and could buy it again.
Not exceptional by no means but not a bad whisky for the price! Need to let it breath for a wee bit longer as a "lot" of whisky! So a good sold 3 ?
This is a traveler’s exclusive version, but, I must confess that the taste is pretty good got the price. It tastes sweat and woody with cinemon and orange. It is bodily and has a smooth character. Actually, I like Glengoyne whiskeys in general, and this one didn’t fail me again
Does nothing for me. It's watery, thin, youngish spirit, with the basic speyside taste profile and some prominent oak. I swear this is the last time I buy a "travel retail exclusive". For similar taste profile, I should/could simply have gone for the Cardhu 12. There's a reason why the classics are the classics
