Glengoyne 17yo TBWC Bottling Note

Here is the first batch of Glengoyne single malt independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The Glengoyne distillery has long been a home of whisky distillation - it dates all the way back to 1833! However, it wasn't always known as Glengoyne, and there's a hint to its old name on the label. The road on which the distillery sit has been replaced with hot coals, causing the feet of those ramblers to burn...

Batch 1 is a release of 1,204 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Full-bodied and filled with buttery goodness, the nose begins with lots of resinous sherried funk and thick, runny toffee. Then comes fruit: dates, sultana and red apples, with polished wood floors and ripe barley. Star anise and charred red pepper provide some intriguing notes underneath.

Palate: Plenty of dark fruits, blackberry compote mostly, with Armagnac-like pruniness and a little orange marmalade in support. Christmas cake, a little creamy nuttiness and some supple tannins build in the backdrop.

Finish: Dry, with roasted spices and a little caramel.

butterscotch cream but not too sweet

wow. such well balanced gentle sweetness and butterscotch, cream and cream brule with a hint of vanilla and key lime pie on the finish.

Lovely stuff

Absolutely cracking dram, tried a dram a few weeks back and absolutely loved it. This is a great example of what Glengoyne can be at its best.

Looks Awesome!

I dare not review, simply can’t get myself to open the bottle which was gifted to me today.
This bottle has been kept for 15 years by my friend before kindly giving it to me!
