“I have tried the 18 and the 10 year old but found this to be more distinctive. It is lovely neat. Even better with oatcakes and cheese. Well that is my preference. Def in my top 10”

Description

Completely unpeated (unusual in the highlands), this Glengoyne is soft, fruity and very quaffable. A fine single malt!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Toffee apples, a little acacia honey, nectarine in syrup and spice, supported by toasted barley in the background.

Palate

Over-ripe grapes, honeyed with hints of vanilla, coconut milk and oak spice. Light touches of chocolate ice-cream.

Finish

Long, oily finish with lingering coffee notes.

Coconut Island

By living in Indonesia , we are very close with coconut in our daily life...Very noticeable from the nose to finish... (with some toffee and vanilla in between) Soft, smooth, easy drink, I’m imagining dancing with chill house music on a seaside bar somewhere in Bali... ? The downside is only the finish, which I feel very short.

Buy it

Great balanced whiskey ! Plenty of sherry with out being a.bomb . Only reason ita not a.five is the proof . Its 86 It would be perfect at 100 or so . They do make a cask strength.

Good, but enjoy the 10yr more.

Normally an Islay whisky drinker but stumbled across the Glengoyne 10 by accident i.e. only tipple available. Immediately liked it so much I ordered a bottle. Nearing the end of the bottle I ordered a 12 yr old. Very nice but I do prefer the 10yr. It is a fresh taste and well rounded and easy drinker but it lacks the sweet after taste of the 10yr. I know this is very subjective and personal. So I do believe you will not waste your money buying it Will try the 15yr next.

Price makes it more palatable

Seemed excessively oily and sharp towards the finish for me. Decent for the price point, but not in my favorites list.

Excellent single malt...especially for the price

Delicious. Nice scotch at a great price point. I got mine for $32 and it’s worth every penny. Smooth, honeyed fruit and a slight bit of spice. Can’t really say any bad about it.
