This Glenglassaugh has been finished in a Madeira wine cask which give the whisky flavours of dried fruit, ginger and orange.
Sweet, dried cake fruit with a savoury edge. BBQ spare ribs with honey and sweet sultana.
Syrupy and sweet, oozing with madeira cake, raisins and ginger spice. Very mild, soft and round.
Madeira cake, lingering ginger and anise spices.

I'm the "Pricey ... but outstanding!" reviewer. I rated it a 10. Don't know how it came out as a 9-star.
A very interesting dram. Candied fruit on the nose. Very rich in fruit and zesty spice on the palate. A long finish, where the Madeira cask reveals itself fully. I bought the 3 cl sample and will likely go for a full bottle (though I'm still mulling it over). Yeah it's pricey, but I have found it tough to get this kind of complexity in a cheaper whisky.
