This Glenglassaugh is finished in an Aleatico wine cask. Aleatico is an ancient Italian red grape variety, brought to the Crimea in 1830. Aleatico accumulates sugar well making it ideal for turning into sweet wine.
Big, savoury meaty tones: steak & ale pie followed by rich underlying dried fruits and fortified wine aromas. Faint treacle and dark chocolate.
Rich toffee and PX sherry flavours, dark chocolate cherries and spicy ginger and touch of black pepper. Creamy and round.
Lots of toffee and lingering spicy ginger and subtle oak.
