Glenglassaugh Octaves Peated Batch 2
For the second Batch of Glenglassaugh Octaves Peated, the distillery has used octave casks made from resized bourbon, Port and Oloroso sherry casks. This has helped to impart a wine-like sweetness to the expression, which is quite a bit different to the more bourbon-cask-matured style of the initial release.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fizzy oak and red grape, with a touch of chocolate. Hints of burnt wood develop in the background.
Palate
Smoke begins to come to the fore on the palate, though the sherried sweetness keeps in from becoming outrageous.
Finish
Red chilli chocolate and flamed orange peel.
