Distilled in 1967, this is a truly sublime, incredibly rare single cask whisky from the Glenglassaugh distillery. It was aged for 41 years before bottling at natural cask strength. It comes in a smart, satin-lined wooden box with a pair of cut crystal glasses and a certificate of ownership.
Nose: Rich notes of Christmas Pudding with brandy butter. Hints of allspice, dessert sherry, dry spices, hints of mixed herbs and cigar leaves.
Palate: Thick palate entry with butterscotch and dried mixed peels. Candied orange rind, allspice, Christmas spice and custard.
Finish: Long, hugely complex, spiced finish with red berries and malt.
Overall: Beautifully complex - a real gem.
