The first release from the Woolf Sung Collection is an incredibly attractive Glenglassaugh single malt, aged in a Sherry butt for 40 years - from December 1972 to January 2013. Just 160 bottles were produced by the wine and spirit merchants based in London.
An abundance of herbs, dried fruits and a hint of fresh black pepper. With time fresh apples give way to more robust Sherry notes and bitter chocolate.
Fresh apple and cinnamon, more black pepper and plenty of rich Sherry notes. Water brings zesty ginger and Seville orange marmalade leading to freshly roast coffee.
Spicy oak and malted barley contribute to a very long finish.
