Glenglassaugh 40 YO 1972 Bottling Note

A Càrn Mòr bottling of Glenglassaugh, distilled in December 1972, long before the distillery closed for over 20 years in 1986. During that tumultuous time for Glenglassaugh, this whisky slumbered in a single sherry butt, up until January 2013, when it was bottled for the Celebration of the Cask series, with an outturn of just 200 bottles.

Glenglassaugh 40 year Old 1972 (cask R13/08/01) - Celebration Of The Cask (Càrn Mòr) Reviews

Not as sherried as you'd expect...

Delicate, smooth vanilla and a hint of smoke. Long and complex. Thoroughly pleasant but less rich and sherried than you'd expect.
