Here we have a brilliant bottle of Glenglassaugh, distilled in December 1986 and then whacked into a single refill bourbon cask for the next 31 years! After such time, it was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice series in July 2018 at cask strength, 52% ABV. Only 141 bottles of this Highlander were released, complete with handsome wooden presentation box.
Aromas of gorse, toasted coconut and honeysuckle intertwined with bright citrus, alongside candied tropical fruit and stewed orchard fruits.
Sharp pink grapefruit citrus balanced by rich and smooth dark chocolate, a hints of pineapple and a pinch of pepper.
Lingering charred oak with fresh and floral rose petals.
A wonderfully light but flavourful whisky with a lovely smooth finish and lingering taste.
