Glenglassaugh 10 Year Old 2010 (cask 2140)
A spectacular addition to the Rare Cask Release collection from Glenglassaugh – this single malt was distilled in June 2010 and allowed to mature for 10 years in a single Oloroso sherry puncheon. Hand selected by the distillery's Master Blender, Rachel Barrie, the cask was cracked open in 2021, with a total outturn of 713 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Ginger biscuits, apple pastries, booze soaked sultanas, bold, malty oak.
Palate
Candied orange peels, sweet berries, a touch of tropical melon, and caramelised pineapple with a whiff of peppermint.
Finish
Floral barley, vanilla toffee, slightly waxy with sweet, sherried oak, and dried herbs.
