This is the first chance to try whisky produced by the recently re-opened Glenglassaugh Distillery.
It was closed in 1986 but resumed production in 2008. This revival bottling is the first whisky to be made at the distillery since it reopened. Matured in a mixture of first and refill bourbon casks, this was finished for 6 months in first-fill oloroso sherry butts.
Sweet caramel and toffee with notes of nutty Sherry, milk chocolate and honey. Ripe plums, red berries and oranges. Caramelised sugar and earthy, charred oak.
Sweet, rounded and creamy. Oranges, plums, cherry and walnuts, chocolate, honey-mead, Sherry and soft, spiced oak.
Medium with warming mulled-wine spices, Sherry and caramel.

This is so good, one of my favourite drams and also one of the best value.
Delicious whisky really get the plum and cherry flavours ocmign through with a soft, smooth texture. A beautiful dram.
Delicious, silky/oily texture in the mouth. Warm cherry influences. Definitely one for the cabinet.
A little harsh on the palate at first taste. This is easily toned down with a single ice cube or splash of water. Great flavours come through in the middle and finish. Really can taste the caramel and Sherry. Enjoying more as the bottle empties.
Maybe just my bottle, but it smells/tastes mildly of vinegar.
