A very special bottling of well-matured single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenglassaugh distillery, aged in a single bourbon barrel for a massive 51 years. It was distilled back in February 1963 and bottled in May 2014 with a small outturn of 191 bottles. An exciting release from the Speyside distillery, housed very handsomely in a stylish bottle and presentation case.
Rich and chocolatey with intense mocha notes within. Decadent, chewy hints of fig and prune. A touch of jammy blackberry too.
A balanced palate bringing full, expressive notes of red berries, fragrant oak spice and black cherry. A crack of pepper and herbaceous notes appear on the mid-palate.
Long and flavoursome, as you expect whiskies of such an age to be.

One of the best whiskies I have tasted. Quality with so much history!
If gold could be bottled then this would be 24k, remarkable aroma and heat when leaving ones palate! exquisite, elegant, spot on!
