Glenfiddich Reserve Cask

Released as a Travel Retail exclusive alongside two other Glenfiddich Cask Collection bottlings, the Reserve Cask focusses on the Sherried side of this Speyside distillery's output. This rich, handsomely sweet expression is matured in Spanish Sherry casks before being married in a Solera vat.

This is a 1 litre bottling.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Waxy peels, marmalade and Christmas-y clove warmth. Vanilla, raisin and a touch of dark chocolate.

Palate Christmas spice up front, joined by fresh lemon, chewy barley, almonds and a little old oak.

Finish Long, with a good balance of sweet citrus and oak spices.

The Best Scotch I have ever had
Let me start by saying Glenfiddich is my go-to Scotch, I love its palate. This Reserve Sherry cask is in my book Glenfiddich's best in my opinion. The flavors are so smooth and refreshing. I really love it I just wish I could get it off the shelf here in the US.

Quite nice indeed
Bought this on a cruise ship recently after trying it and it is excellent. Good example of the house character of Glenfiddich , fruity, spicy, a little rough but at times but loaded with character. There are definitely some tannins in this one which leads me to believe that some virgin oak was used but nevertheless the raisins and crisp red apples are there thanks to the sherry cask. Very happy with this one.

Fruit & honey. What's not to like?
Gorgeous warm rounded flavour, fruited and warm syrup, gentle but reasonably lasting warm honey finish. Big fan of the XX and the 15 expressions, found this via a 3 miniature gift pack and bought a bottle. Passed it around a few smokeheads in the Birmingham Whisky Club and it was met with plenty of approval. If you like either the 15 or the XX, get this. Remember to factor in that it's a litre, not a 70cl, and it's a steal at this price.

Another good whisky from Glenfiddich
Very nice to drink. Good balance. Not much different compared to Glenfiddich Select Cask, only a bit more expensive. So why spend 10€ extra on this, when you can have same quality with lower price.

Very nice to drink, but I really prefer The Solera 15 years. Its a matter of taste. !

Light with plenty of bite
I won't bother with tasting notes as I feel they're far too subjective, however I'm a hardened Islay drinker, so this was a step back towards the lighter end of things.

Happy to get a travel retail bottle off the missus and enjoyed it neat in a cognac styled glass.

There's plenty of pleasant burn on the tongue and a warm after taste. A lot going on in the sinuses, like a powerful wasabi, if you catch my drift.

Will enjoy it over here in Norway in the summer with some seafood from the grill.
